Hey guys I'm new here, just signed up, but have been following the site for some time now. Love the idea of student films on the web, been browsing around for awhile now - really love it! So anyway, HI! . I'm curious about affordable greenscreen solutions. I'll be shooting on Digital8 or MiniDV cameras for the most part at this time, editing with Premiere and After Effects (I love having connections). I know HOW to crop out the colors but I was just wondering because I wanted to build one myself. What kind of material, what colors, what types of lighting, etc. do you guys recommend? I'm just an amaeture but I'm loving doing it and everything. Only in HS, researching colleges and stuff you know. Been reading the other topics on the forums and all. But yea - so any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance!

Don't forget to really light up that screen too, so that it really stands out from the foreground (re: actor). Light it evenly and you shouldnt get much in the way of the "sparklies" and "crinklies" you get from trying to chroma key badly lit green screen.

I've seen a couple of really good bargains on green screens on both ebay and the used equipment at B and H Photo. I've considered getting one myself, but I have some other items I need before that!
As usual, with ebay, proceed with caution. I have bought several things, USED from B and H Photo and have nothing but the highest praise for them. I'm sure there are many other fine and reputable dealers also.
Good luck.
