I am talking about the microphone adapter and maybe the wind equalizer. If I buy the adapter all I need is the pole and mic right ? And if I buy a mic it would be a great idea to have a wind equalizer?
I wouldn't buy the cannon adapter--the cannon adapters are natorious for low s/n ratio. Instead, get the studio one or beachtek (my favorite) brand adapter.
You probably will want a zeppelin also---aka windscreen. Again, I wouldn't buy cannon brand. Decent zeplins are 100-300 bucks (depending on the type of mounting device). Lightwave makes a good one.

http://www.beachtek.com/dxa6.html I am looking at getting this adapter - since it handles phantom power as well. I know beachtek makes different adapters for different cameras (vx, gl etc) but it doesn't say anything about compatability for the dxa6, anyone used one on a gl2 etc ?
That's a sweet mic. Why did you choose that one? What type of recording do you mainly plan on doing? It's not one of the more common field recording mics. Most people go for a shotgun mic (either the at835b or the Sennheiser K-6/ME-66. You may want to read this lower cost shotgun review by the very trustworthy, Dan B: http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/review_shotgun_mics.html
I have the DXA-6. It works great with the gl-2. The reason beachtek makes different adapters for different cameras is because of the two different types of grounding required and the different ways the adapter physically mounts to the bottom of the camera--oh, and for the xL1, it comes with RCAs instead of mini-plug. The DXA-6 has a switch on it to handle both types of camera electrical grounding--actucally, after hooking up the mic, I listen to see which ground setting is the quitest (depending on mics it seems to change). So the DXA-6 will work with the gl-2 and at3060--just buy lots of 9v batts.

I chose that mic because I was told it has extremely clear crisp sound and only records what is in front of it. I think that is what you want when it comes to recording dialogue on set right ? Also It can be used as a studio mic as well, its just the price is gonna kill me. Thanks for your help.
