I was thinkin of getting a Sony directional microphone, but then I saw the wireless ones listed on their site...I only have enough money for one, so which would you suggest?

What specific models are you looking at? How much do you have to spend? More information will give you better advice.

Generally, wireless mics have their pluses and minuses. In the pro setup, wireless is always the last resort (because it adds more things to go wrong). But wireless setups get around some shortcomings in high impedance unbalanced consumer wired mics. If you're okay with buying tons of batteries, I'd rather see you buying a low end wireless mic (sub $500) than a low end wired mic (sub $300).
