I was thinking of buying the Slik Pro 700DX tripod. Does anyone know if it's compatible with the Sony HDR-HC3 camcorder(mini dv)? What's your opinions on this tripod? Good for making movies?

The Bogen/Manfrotto 725B and 728B looked good too but they don't have as much length to extend compared to the Slik Pro.

Thanks for the link. I've decided to buy the Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod along with the Manfrotto 503HDV fluid head. I am taking your advice as far as the head goes. Do you think the Sony HDR-HC3 will be compatible with the 503DV? I'm pretty sure it will since it specializes in HD miniDV cams but I just want to make it certain.

And I am buying the 503 one instead of the 501 because I will probably upgrade my camcorder to a much heavier one in the near future.
