So, my new short "Stranger Lives"...about 1/2 of it takes place in a car. Which according to my DP is a problem shooting/lighting wise.

Basically he said, that because my main characters are supposed to be moving (driving)if we shot anything that went through a window and we weren't moving- the audeience would be able to tell.

My concern lighting wise is that, we're shooting about 12pm-5pm and I don't want the earlier shots to be over exposed. I have work lights , if something is too dim. But if it's too bright?

Also, now that I think of it, I just got (well it will be here in a week) a new boom http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1600...eName=ADME:B:EF:US:2. Any ideas how to work with it in the car?

WE can't take any windows out of car. On set we're going to mainly record dialogue (as far as sound. So , any suggestions for lighting,using a boom through the window and trying to shoot in a car?

There's very very little you can do to light the inside of a car moving car during the day. If you had a road blocked off you might be able to get a large reflector on a vehicle next to the car, but I doubt it would do much.

Your best bet is to try for an overcast day, so the light is more soft and uniform.You won't get glare and harsh shadows inside then. ALso, if the car is traveling through an area that obstructs direct sunlight, like woods, or downtown, you shouldn't have that problem.

You could shoot them in the car against a green screen and then composit them and a background together in something like AE. I know it's more work and a pain but that's another option.

The truth is, I don't think a successful green-screen scene has even been done at the student/low-budget level. I always cringe inside when I hear about students aiming for that route. You need insane amounts of expensive lights, and a camera that shoots a non-compressed format (like true HD) to pull it off.

buy one of those windsheild sun reflectors and put that inside of the car. Use it as a bounce board to reflect the light on the actor.
