Can someone educate me on editing the 24p footage from the dvx100p cam?

-what programs (fcp4?)
-which mode 24p or 24padvance to film in?

If anyone has a dummy's guide or at least some sound advice/tips I would greatly be in debt to that person. Thank you much!

What's your mastering format? If it's anything but film or 24 fps quicktime/web, shoot 24p(non-A) and import and edit it like any other footage (29.97).

Yeah the latest version of FCP alows you to import the 24pa footage (as does Avid Xpress pro) but no other. Really as stated, unless you are go for a final out to film or doing HEAVY color correction shooting in the 24p mode os just fine. Rendering color correction on the 24pa and then doing the pull down yourself will help keep a little higher resolution but you wouls need a side by side comparrison to notice it. Given your version its a mute point though. 24p (wich is spit out as 29.97) and edit like any other DV footage.
