What kind of camera would be best for someone just starting in indie film? I'm looking for something relatively inexpensive (under $500) but of decent quality as a learning tool.

Ideas on what I should be looking for?

Thanks so much, guys. Any imput would be appreciated. wink

I just got a mini-dv Samsung SCD67, and its doing right by me. I have a few unedited short movies made, and I have a big movie planned for January. I plan to get lenses, lights, and a tripod for Christmas. I not in the position to give recommendations, just get something with easy editing access.
