Provide the food when they work, and give them a copie. That is two things college students love, free food, and seeing themselves on a T.V.

That depends. The way I do it is I post fliers up at schools, anywhere you can put fliers up.

If you're shooting a crowd, you could just take your camera to the school's actual game and film the audience and edit it that way. Have you tried talking with your school's football team, some of those guys will do anything if you convince them they might get the hook up.

Also try other schools in your area.

Hope this helps.

....or......you can have it be a women competetive football team....and you cast the cheerleaders....but it's....get this....MUD football. Where they water down the field then put the female players in bikinis. Thats what I'd do. Smile

I am sidelined with an injury but I know all the guys and all the cheerleaders and I also like the crowd idea...But I think I will make the cheerleaders like the ones in the replacements...LOL

what do you think I should do for football equipment? I definetly will go with the basics, helmet, shoulder pads, a jersey and football pants...Do you know a cheap and easy way I can get the equipment for about 22 people.... Should I just ask my school to borrow some equipment, but I doubt they would help me out...what should I do...

It's a little tricky this way. Not only do you have to convince them to let you use all the stuff, you have to convince them you won't break anything. School stuff is generally hard to get because it's paid for by either government money or parent donations. They like to know that their stuff is safe.

Try to find kids who USED to play football and don't anymore that will still have their old pads lying around. I don't know about your school, but at mine the kids were allowed to buy their own pads and stuff. My friends who played did that and have pads lying around in their closets.

Anyway, I don't know how much that helped, but that's my input Smile.

Good luck.

Just random thoughts here. Definitely ask the school for equipment use. All they can say is no and it costs you nothing. Check with a used store (around here it's PLAY IT AGAIN SPORTS). They may have stuff pretty cheap. See if you can use the actual "B" squad or JV team, then suit your actors up around them and choreograph the action. With helmets on and the right angles, you'll never know it's the JVs (or actual players).

Definitely see about shooting the crowd at an actual game. Make sure you can get permission to shoot at half (or whenever) and have the crowd cheer, scream and boo on cue. Then you can use those shots anywhere!

Good luck.

I mean I am one of them...although I am sidelined with an injury as I said, but my friends are basically made up of the football and basketball teams so I shouldnt have too much trouble getting the guys...The equipment will be tough and the crowd might be tough unless I just show up and take there real emotions during the game and put them on tape... Anyone else have anyting to add???

I don't think you'd need permission to film at a football game...that is unless you plan on going crazy and having like three cameras stationed all over the place focusing on different levels and depth of the audience with sound crews shoving BOOM mics in people's asses and vaginas....but if you plan on just walking around with a tri-pod and camera...your fine. There's already going to be like twenty people in the stands WITH cameras.
