I currently just ended a workshop being taught by brooke bundy, one of the top 5 coaches in Hollywood. She is well known in everything. I am going to see the Owner of Monster Talent, The guy who turned down Vin Diesel, in march. I need a camera man badly. I have three movies that I want to do and willing to pay. I have the actors and extras, just need a camera man. even someone with a digital camera that has a USB interface (which means able to put it on a computer), Thats what I am mainly looking for right now. but if anyone has access to a real camera then please help me. I am an actor and moving to LA next june. Trying to get 1 of the films in Sundance and Monster talent can probably make it happen. Just think about everyone that came from Sundance FF. Please help me out...or ideas??? Thanks alot

About Sundance... I was wondering if they look down apon films that take a serious subject matter but instead have 17-19 yr olds playing the roles. The reason I ask is because I have made a Vietnam War Movie with a ton of my friends and it is pretty damn good. It has a great story and the movie flows very well, especially for a 90 min student film. So I was wondering If I sent it in would I get any recognition or would they discard it for the fact that the roles arent as realistically portrayed as they should be i suppose. Also most soldiers in Vietnam were 19 years old so I am not that far off but most people don't know that. Also My film is damn better than "Stolen Summer" by Pete Jones. That movie sucks.

Sundance rejects 99% of everything. To be honest, they look down on everything without star power much less those without any professional actors at all. Most films that they accept are basically distribution ready (Legalities taken care of, internegative has been struck etc). That said, if it's really that good, they will probablly take it. It really has to knock their socks off though.

Haha. I'm not trying to be cocky lol but I didnt like Stolen Summer one bit. I watched the Project Greenlight DVDs all on one day, and when I watched the movie I was very dissapointed. It seemed like a Made for TV Disney channel original movie the way it was presented. But thats besides the point.
I am familiar with Sundance but not that familiar that is why I had that question. But as for rejecting 99% of stuff. Sucks for me I suppose. And since my movie was shot on video, sucks even more. Oh well. Anyway, there is always hope. I am not really planning on entering it I was just wondering. I am planning on entering however several smaller festivals over the course of this year. wish me luck. and thanks for the relpies!

what you have to remeber about the project greenlight movie is that pete jones was not a director, he was a writer who got thrust into a job he wasn't qualified for. I would imagine it is quite difficult to direct a major motion picture for a studio having no experience. all and all i think the guy did a comendable job, the first film i directed was in college and i know that was frustrating at times, couldnt even imagine it being for miramax with the whole world watching. stolen summer could have been alot worse all things considered.

that is very true. It counld have been horrible. I just didn't like it. But yeah, I know how frustrating making a movie can be, and to have the world watching it must've been worse, but then again he said that he forgot that the documentary crews were runnin around all the time. Another reason I think I didn't like it is it just isn't my type of movie. That's vague I know cause I dont really know what types of movies I normally like, but Stolen Summer wasn't one of them. Anyway, Thanks for the feedback.
