Don't know if anyone here would have this type of info...
I've got a scene I'm shooting next week with a stabbing. I want to show the impact-so i'm thinking of getting a pig or part of a pig, and putting the blood bag on it and the shirt over it and then doing a close shot of the impact that way.
pig because i was told it's the most 'human' like flesh.
anyway, if you know of any tips or tricks to getting a nice, realistic stabbing let me know.
Thx.
everything'll be OK in the end, if it's not OK, it's not the end.

braininabox- it's a stabbing in the chest-front on.
cinematical- yes, i've heard 'good' things about stabbing pigs. funny, i went to the butcher today to look into it... it went like this: Me-Do you have any pig carcasses or carcass parts? Them-Yes, but it's not really edible. Me-Oh, that's OK, it's for stabbing, not eating. Them-(horrified look of shock)

Maybe you should just not stab the pig skin and just stab the actor with a real knife in the scene. He won't expect it, and you'll get a genuine look of shock and pain. I've tried this with my actors with fantastic results.
