EDIT: hotlink protected image - it was the lotr one after merry and pippin stole the fireworks.

what exactly should I use to create this blown up effect? is there some sort of black powder to put on people? is it paint? i'm mainly talking about faces - the hair will not be visible. i COULD just use ash or something - but it seems there must be a product just for this.

thanks in advance!

I used to use ash on my face as a kid (when I was playing pro-baseball player or army). My mom made me stop b/c ash is very acidic or something. The blown up look is just a black powder makeup, I think. I don't think you'd want to use paint b/c it'd be too shiny. You're picture is a broken link, but traditionally I think it's a non-shiny black on the faces.

Try going to your local drug or department store and look for a black powder-based makeup.

Get there face damp and throw dust on them. Works for me.
