STAYFREE® Girls in the Directors Chair is about encouraging women to feel empowered and follow their dreams. Together lets put more girls in the director's chair! STAYFREE® is looking to help a talented girl reach for the stars. Tell us how a $1,000.00 grant would do that for you. What would you do with the money? What are your dreams?



MEDIUM: Film or Documentary

Presented by Samsung Fresh Films and John Lithgow.

Best use of entertainment to educate presented by John Lithgow and his passion to educate through arts. Certain films and documentaries are an entertaining way to learn about a particular subject. We are looking for the next great example of how a filmmaker would educate through film. You choose the subject and we'll be waiting with our popcorn to learn. Must be less than 10 minutes in length.



MEDIUM: Film or Documentary

Presented by Samsung Fresh Films and Jeremy Coon.

Best Teen Produced Video: Best Overall Teen Film or Documentary.

Show us what you've got as an upcoming producer/director. We want to see your teen produced film or documentary. It can be any genre but it must be under 10 minutes in length.



MEDIUM: Multi-Media (power-point, essay, video, painting, etc) anything that illustrates why you & your school/class are deserving of this creativity grant.

We strongly believe in the importance of the Arts within schools. Tell us why you and your school/class deserve a creative grant. Be creative. We want to see your collaboration!


DEADLINES:

All passion statements, films and or multi media must be received at Dreaming Tree Films (4646 N. Ravenswood 2 nd floor, Chicago IL 60640) by 12:00pm (CST) on October 12 th, 2007. Winners will be contacted no later than October 18th, 2007.



If your passion statement is selected:

You will receive a $1000.00 grant on behalf of STAYFREE and Katherine Brooks to be put towards your future as a filmmaker You along with 1 parent/guardian will be flown out to LA to attend “Teen Film Industry Day” at the American Film Institute film festival in Los Angeles CA where you will be presented your scholarship.



Airfare and hotel accommodations will be provided for you and a parent/guardian Dreaming Tree Films is not responsible for meals, ground transportation or any other cost incurred other than hotel and airfare.


If your film is selected:

You will receive a $1000.00 grant on behalf of Samsung Fresh Films to be applied towards your filmmaking career. You along with 1 parent/guardian will be flown out to LA to attend “Teen Film Industry Day” at the American Film Institute film festival in Los Angeles, CA where you will be presented your scholarship.
