Okay, I have been really busy lately and here is the scope of this movie.
About 99 teens in 10 cities participate in a program called Samsung Fresh-Films. These 99 teens were picked out of 6,800 applications. I was in the Chicago Team. There were 10 of us and Chicago was picked to do a comedy. He got a script that was written by a professional writer. We had one week to do this, from pre-production to post. This included camera training, casting, call backs, shoot day, editing.. etc.
We worked on high tech equipment which included a Canon XL2, boom mics and etc. We had to do a lot of work like scouting locations, holding auditions, calling for food on the day of the shoot and etc.
The movie that my crew made was called "The end of the world, or at least the beginning of the end, as intended, with very few side effects." The film centers on Lucifer's son who was summoned by nerds during a Dungeons and Dragons game, and involves a beat-boxing Christmas caroler, a paranoid superhero and a gamer girl.
People will be able to view it online at www.fresh-films.com starting Aug. 9. Which is TOMMORROW!!! Viewers can vote for the film up until Aug. 15 in a competition against other teen comedies in New York and Los Angeles. If selected best comedy, it will then compete online against the best drama and action thriller Aug. 15 to 21 for the chance to premier in Los Angeles in September.
I think that this program is great for teenagers, and will be perfect for some of you on the forums. If some of you are interested for next year just go to www.fresh-films.com
