They are metal. I never really wondered what kind of metal, but they are definitely metal. I would say you basically NEED metal, or else something nasty will happen to it, and it probably has to be a certain type, treated a certain way, with heat resistant paint. | PerryKroll.com | TRC | "If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled." If you do use metal for your doors, remeber that it is a great conductor of heat and therefore you need to wait for it to cool down if you want to use it again.

I may just be a noob since I've only been working with stage lights (and barn doors) for the last 12 years, but, Erol, if I were to build barn doors like you implied, I would use inexpensive sheet metal that you can buy at most hardware stores. I've never built any myself because I find black wrap that much more versatile for what I do. I did provide a link to someone who did make barn doors for a home depot style work like on my website's lighting primer. I'm sure you could adapt and improve upon this design for whatever you are doing. Joren www.jorenclark.com"In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's mind there are few.
