i'm passively looking at these two. Can someone tell me the differnece, and do ya'll think the 2 is worth the price difference?

the cooler thing about the gl2 is that it lets you control your audio levels manually and the gl1 doesn't. Personally i would go out and just get the gl2 but if your not sure on price and want something good but cheap panasonic sells a 3ccd camera for about 1100 and supposedly it looks pretty good. U might want to check that out

what camera is that fido. Im a little low on cash and that camera fits in my price range.

the camera is the panasonic AG-EZ50 you can get it at b&h for 1199.95. Hope that helps u

Yes i think the price difference is worth it. I own the gl-2 so you do get your moneys worth and more. But i suggest that you purchase it fromB&H. Plus with the GL-2 if you know how to do lighting you can beat anyone with what they like to consider a 3 ccd camera. Also just as a fact the GL-2 has a better image quality then most cameras twice the price of it and definitly better then the XL1S. And you are getting the manual audio which will help in the long run, it is a good investment.
