uh oh . . . I don't think you can compare the two . . . they are two different kinds of movies . . . but, since I have to choose: die hard.

I return briefly to show you that these are actually, in fact, the same movie.

Both include hostile, technologically advanced antagonists successfully hacking and then comandeering the country's electrical/electronic systems for takeover. Olyphant's hoodlums vs. Decepticons.

Both include the nerdy and overweight "expert" living in his basement that the government somehow has not included in its outreach for non-military advisement. The main characters must frantically race to him for technical assistance with a matter of national security. Kevin Smith vs. Anthony Anderson. They each make a crack about cops in their homes too. Smith says how he hates cops and doesn't want them in his command center, Anderson huffs about how the cops hate him and his grandmother doesn't want them on her carpet. It's uncanny.

Both include a single, critical piece of portable hardware on which the fate of the world resides. A hard drive with the nation's financial data on it vs. the Cube.

Both have the mature, experienced veteran that knows his objective and will do anything--and blow up anything--to get his way. Bruce Willis vs. Optimus Prime.

Both have the inexperienced, teenage sidekick for commic relief and ability to relate to the audience to which the movie caters. Justin Long vs. Shia LaBeouf.

The teenage love interest. Mary Winstead vs. Megan Fox.

Car chases.

An interior showdown in a government building. Social Security building vs. Secret Hoover Dam Area.

And they say Hollywood isn't original anymore. What do they know?

They both sucked equally, seeing as how they're the same movie.

I leave now.

You're so astute. Please, take everything everyone says literally. It's healthy.
