How about the Speeder Bike chase in ROTJ - does that count? | PerryKroll.com | TRC | "If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled." Wodehouse

I can't believe this post was even concidered without mentioning Billy Friedkin's "The French Connection" and "To Live and Die in L.A."

The thing with polls is they are mearly a catalyst for discussion, I could have included the french short "C' Était Un Rendezvous" by Claude Lelouch which would have to be in the top 3, or any episode of the "Dukes of hazard", the poll is more about getting you guys to post your opinions, and after 5 pages we can then make a short list Peter.

Is it coincidental that you have mentioned two fine car chases both by the same director, or is your last name Friedkin? good choices all the same Peter.

I considered saying Bourne Identity, but something about that film's style just irritates me. It WAS good, but it was annoying too. You want to shout out "Get a steadicam for goodness sakes!" half way through | PerryKroll.com | TRC | "If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled." Wodehouse

My dad made me watch The French Connection, claiming it had an excellent car chase scene, but once we were done watching it, we realized how outdated it was compared to modern cinema chase scenes. Very boring chase I must say, but I guess it was "exciting" when it was theatrically released.
That is interesting Trespasser, as I am the oposite, I like the raw footage style of the original gone in "60 seconds", crikey, you can see camera's on cars, camera's on roads, even camera's on sticks if the shot looked good they put it in. Compare that chase sequence with something like, the first side by side street drag by the 2 ricers in The fast and the furious 1, which has been processed to an inch of its life (but still enjoyable to watch) the 2 styles are quite seperate, both extremly entertaining, but personaly I prefer the raw over the slick, it may be because as a film industry person I like to see what we shot on the street not what was produced in a small room full of buttons Peter.

That is funny, I wanted to say the same thing, doco style works for some things, but not a car chase, please. Peter.

There you go guys, if you choose to vote option 3 please post up your choice. As I said, the 5 choices are in no particular order and the list is certainly not compleate, it is up to you guys to compleate it Peter.
