I have to be perfectly honest and say i have not had that much experience with film making and i actually come from the theatre production side of things rather then the film making side. I have however been reading quiet a bit from this site and my thoughts have been confirmed that the process of making films is very similar if not the same to that of theatre except the obvious difference which is the final result where one is live and the other is not but the purpose of entertainment is the same.
There for the actual reason for my post is this. One of my course requirements is that we must put on a performance in a small space which we call 'the shed' but it is really a small black room. Other then this there are no guidelines. I am very interested in getting film makers ideas of what could be done in such a space and ideas of stories.
I have spent a while thinking already about this i have decided that i would like to include projection, animation and i want the story to rely heavily on the lighting and soundscape rather then actors performance. i want to create an atmosphere and a new environment rather then just the dialogue of a script. Which is very similar to what film is.
My problem is that i am struggling with creating a story to go with the technical aspects i have decided to play around with. Any advice on how to focus and come up with a story idea to fit would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much and bonus points for getting to the end of the post.
