SO! I've finally finished the re-edit of my first film, Alone. I actually ended up not using the pick-ups that I shot (they are still an option, as this is not a 100% locked edit). I cut about 2 minutes from the film and did some (admittedly rough) color correction throughout. It can be found here:

I would very much appreciate comments/feedback, especially in relation to the original version.

And, Chris, I do plan on submitting to SF, but I have some questions about submission formats...

See the Submission FAQ for more info. But it can be a Quicktime or AVI using the DV codec or it can be a DVD that will play on a set top player.

Let me know if you have any more Qs.

The short was filmed in 16:9, 720p HD, and so any conversion into DV/DVCPRO NTSC format gets one stretched picture. Do you (or anyone out there) know how to use one of those codecs but maintain the aspect ratio, while using Compressor in FCS1 (letterbox?).

awesome...easily one of the best first films i have seen. it is also one of the best films i have seen on this site lately... awesome job.. i loved the fact that you used no music...just awesome.. refreshingly simple, and well executed.
