Hola compadres! I'm new to the site here and thought I would start it off with a little question:
For my last school project me and my grade will be doing a talkshow production, which will be infront of a live audiance (and filmed). What different techniques can you recommend that i use to get the full effect of a talkshow, even though i will be just filming "in the background"?

Cheers,

- If you can, get a camera to sweep the audience for the ending.
- The titles for the opening should stand out, spend some extra time using the CG machine.
- Make sure everyone using a camera knows how to operate it very well...it really adds a lot to the show.
- Same goes for everyone in the control room. Without someone who knows what they are doing there the show can fall apart as I have seen so many times while in training.
- Use overhead condenser mics if your talent can project their voice good enough. I feel these look better than a mic clipped to your talent...

Most importantly, run though several rehearsals with your talent and crew. This is the most important thing you can do to insure a smooth production.

Thanks Dave for the input and IR very gratefull for the tips. we only have one mic on a stick, dont know what you call it in english, but it picks up a very specific person/sound, how would you suggest if we only have very BASIC mic's. Place them stragecically around the desk and or scene? Also what is a CG machine?
