A lot of people wishish to become a director, DP, editor, but i never read stories in forums from/about people wanting to become producers. Its seems that no filmmaker 'dreams' of being a producer.
The quistion is, is producing considered a creative job? I know what there job is, but its unclear how much creative "controle" they have (i dont mean the Excutive producers).
The second quistion is, who wants to becoma a producer?
Thanks

I haven't really heard of anyone who wants to be a producer either...
I don;t think I want to be a producer cuz from what I've heard they're basically just like accountants, I could be completely wrong but if im right, well you never hear anyone dreaming about being a desk jockey.

Producers play varying roles in different films, and have a varying degree of control over the creative process. Some are known for being not much more than money managers, while others are very hands-on with the production process.

I would agree that many do not dream about being a producer, because it can be an ambiguous role on a film as previously explained. I can say that my best friend wants to be a producer and in his mind it is a creative job, with the business side of things thrown in.

Independent filmmakers basically produce and direct and write their films, right ?? They probably hire other people to be assistants in helping them produce.
Unless you're talking about A-list producers like Jerry Bruckheimer who all they do is produce. But I think it depends on who you are as a producer, some are involved in the creative control and others just their to put everything together for the whole film to work.
