Ok, well I'm hoping any of you will perhaps have the time to do this for me. I had to make a 5 minute short film for my media studies class and I am in need of opinions, I've got a questionnaire type thing I would like you to carry out... so please do help me

Can watch it here http://www.catmoo.co.uk/Movie_0001.wmv

Two areas that still need to be smoothed is the bit of dialogue, alongside a small error...

You are about to be shown a short five minute film entitled “Don’t Forget to Save”
The film is aimed at a large target audience and I would like to know if it would appeal to you.
The film itself will take up 5 minutes of your time, if you would so kindly fill out the questionnaire after you have watched the film I would be very much obliged.

What is your name?
Age?
Gender?
Country?

Did it appeal to you?

Did you enjoy the film?

Did you understand the film?

If not, what did you not understand?

What genre would you classify the film to?

Did you think the accompanying music suited it well?

Do you think anything could be changed to make it better?

Where there any points in the film that you did not like?

Do you have any further comments on the film?

I would send it to Chris to put on the site, but it is not yet finalised Smile

Hey.

Just watched your film. I'm M. M. Rempen from Orange, California. I'm male. I'm 19.

So, your film was pretty good technically. It was well shot, had some interesting angels, well edited, though the pacing on the orange could use some work, and pretty well acted as well. The story is where it lacked a little. I mean, some of it was a little far-fetched. Now, every film needs suspension of disbelief, but this one required a bit too much. Also, every film needs some kind of stakes - something the audience will go, "oh man, if he doesn't get/accomplish this thing, that would be bad." Maybe a few more shots of what he was writing. All I saw was a blank screen.
The largest problem I saw with it was in the title. "Don't forget to save." As soon as I saw the guy typing, I knew how it would end. He forgets to save and loses his work. Plus, you'd think the handy note would have reminded him.
Maybe if at the end of the film, he decided to write the note.

My two cents.

Oh, thank you, I thought that no one was going to reply Frown

Strangely I never picked up on the whole predictable title, perhaps I should change it, no one has ever actually said that to me.
Though in terms of the suspension of disbelief I sort of intended it to be a little more than imaginable...

But thank you kindly for the constructive criticism, it is much appreciated Smile

First of all great, great music! it really server the story, at first you get a slightly unconvertible feeling and on the moment the end credits were rolling the music was uplifting, i really liked it!

The audio when the frisbee kid was talking was awfull! it took me out of the story and i think its really easy to fix this problem, because its takes your film down.

But even then... your film is nice, so nice that the sound problem does not matter too much because you have other great footage! (i dont know much about sound, but when the guy was talking it was really loud with a lot of noise and then it was all gone, so i think you must add audio noise under all the scenes) I enjoyd watching this movie, it was funny (altough i feel a bit sad for the office guy...) i dont understand why there are scenes with the vegetables and bicecly, what the add to the story, but i liked them anyway.

good short movie Smile

I also likes the title of the movie and i dont think it is too predictable... or maybe iam not smart enough...

Yeah.. the dialogue bit in my film its real downfall, but unfortunately the only good take I had has someone laughing on the audio track, so there was little I could really do...

I was thinking of maybe putting in a caption card like a silent film, if anyone has any opinions on that, greatly appreciated Smile

and thank you very much Jerry, very nice detailed feedback, nice to know you didn't find the title two predictable Smile.
