i have never done 3d computer animations before but i want to learn because i would one day like to be able to make little animated people and use them to make little movies. I know that THAT is a long way off but where do i start. Does anyone know of any tutorials that run through the basics for 3D studio max. I mean the real basics. Better would be a site that has things for beginners and just works up in level.

I think the 3ds max comes with some tutorial files, for you to quickly understand what is possible with the software. I heard people saying that it involves not so steep learning curve before something can be done by our own using the 3ds max software. You may search for "3ds max" at amazon.com, I am sure you can find a lot of books on this subject. All the best.
