I am just about to begin production of my own short film. I have put so much importance on this project but I know that I am going to need a steadycam. I need to do this on a tight budget. Does anyone have any suggestions or links to websites that have directions? Thanks
PS-I already saw the $14 steadycam online, but I don't want to make one that is just a straight metal pole. I am looking for a balanced weight system with rotating handle under the camera.

did you even really look at the blueprint for the 14 dollar steady cam? it's not just a pole. it's got a weight on the bottom. i built it out of sheer curiousity, and i think it works alright if you need a tight budget.

Daaaaaamn, I just quickly checked the prices for the Glidecams but they looked pretty expensive. They must being paying you well at the boat dealership.
