Just doing some improving on my movie idea by getting your input:

You can easily assume that the 18 year old Julia is a tough girl when you see how troubling her life has been. After her mom killed herself her boyfriend was murdered. Julia has always wondered why her mom would do such a thing and was also suspicious of the murder and despite her rigourous research she hasn’t uncovered much, until now. Julia will soon find out that the two events are connected and much much more.

Now I was totally inspired by the UPN show Veronica Mars but Im sure I could veer in the opposite direction and make it my own. There are a few questions I want to ask.

I'm having trouble developing it: how would you like to see this turn out and what would you like to see in it.

turns out the mom killed herself after she killed the boyfriend!

introduce the father, and have him kill the wife for divorcing him and the boyfriend because he believes he isnt good enough for his little angel

Wow, you guys are really into the death plot, arent you, hahaha.

Anyways, i was skeptical about whether or not to persue something because I was so influenced by other particular works, but im pretty confident about my ability to stray from the norm and im enthused enough about it.


I want to find out how to pull off the main character to be someone who is assertive yet fun. She knows right from wrong and has a good sense of intuition.


Im going to list all the qualities that I want to draw out from my inspirations and try to sort it out to be something original, after that, I'll try to revise the idea and pitch it again.

Everything isnt final, and I have an idea of where to go with it, but I like people criticizing it because it helps me develop it.

Okay, im just updating this for some reason or another.

The movie has a noir feel, a teen movie feel, and a strong sense of morality. I'm splitting up the movie into two as to leave a cliffhanger.


Some vague description:

Part 1 will establish the mystery. Her boyfriend was murdered and her mom seemed to be too. After picking up on a huge lead, she starts vigorously hunting for more aswers. She finds out her mom is alive and and than searches for more answers about her boyfriend. She finds out he's actually dead which is one of the saddest parts but in the end she goes to find out what really happened and find her mom, making sure she's alive. The cliffhanger will show her leaving the town we began to love from the first movie going to find her mom in another place. The first movie will show a stronger sense of peace and a much lesser scope than the second. It will be a little more familiar and, i guess you can say, inviting to the viewer.

Part 2
A little less familiar to start. She will be in a new area finding clues. She will find out something big and the public will find out about the big conspiracy and secret behind what happened as the mom goes back to find her. Everything will be quite mixed up now and im still deciding what will happen. In the end she does find her mom and its a touching moment and all.



Basically, its not a teen movie per-se, but its loaded with teen spirit. She's a little curious and also has a very mixed up life. Also, when you're a teen everything seems to revolve around you and this conveys that perfectly. Its all about her story and how everyone ties into it.


Also, im going to begin the story with something set in highschool to show this teen energy right off the bat. She's going to have to sacrafice some school obligations to follow this case.
