If you scroll down the page a bit I think they said it cost about $125. Dont take my word for it though.

It is kinda cheap for what ya get on film, it was around $125.00 to make, and the gun is nothing more than a CO2 BB gun, we put babypowder in the barrel and a red paper spit ball and when you fire the spit ball comes out and hits the actor and sticks the baby powder makes what looks like smoke and there back blows out just a little slower, so in a frame by frame play back it looks so real.

Yes you can get everthing over the counter anywhere.
