hey guys, I'm a video artist, and I'm working on a video related to the show Full House. I'm trying to recruit people to re-create a short ten second scene from the second season episode "Joey Gets Tough" from 1988. I got a commission to do this project, so I can pay $80 for each video submission that fits my requirements. If you are interested, there is more information on a webpage I created about the project here:

Thanks!! and pass this info along to anyone you think might be interested in participating.

My webserver happened to go down for the first time in a long time today. If you were interested and got a dead link before, everything's back up now.

This seems really strange and interesting. I have to ask, Why this scene, what's the overall theme or point of the project? There's nothing in the write ups about the intent, and that makes me worry that A: there is no point or B: there's some motivation that won't be revealed until the end.

These are good questions, and I'll probably add a little of this to the website. Considering how I chose to just jump into this project, it's not easy to anticipate all the questions people will have, so thanks for responding.

The selection of the scene is simply a gut feeling. I came up with this project two years ago when I was watching Full House and that scene really struck me for some reason. I do like that it's such a cliche portrayal of a real and serious situation, and I like the music and rhythm of the scene. I've found that going with my gut feeling and usually works out, and the motivations behind my gut feelings reveal themselves more as the work progresses.

The project is partly about the shift from corporate controlled entertainment media to user generated media. And it's also about expanding on some concepts of contemporary composers/sound artists like Alvin Lucier and Steve Reich.

I assure you there is no hidden motive or spin that I plan for it.

Also, I've decided to decrease the number of videos to ten, so I can increase the payout to each group to $150. I haven't had enough responses, and I realized that $80 just isn't enough for most considering that it requires 3 people and probably a fair amount of work.

Email me at 'paul dot slocum at gmail dot com' to sign up. When I receive a completed video that meets the guidelines, I can either pay through Paypal or by mailing a check. I've updated the page to make this information more clear.

And make sure you read the PDF document on my page outlining the requirements for the video.
