Hi there! I'm looking to spread the word about my latest animated project "The Yellow House". It will depict a introspective journey to the mind of painter Vincent van Gogh in his late years, his dealing with his fears and demons and the struggle in his self-discovery.
Please take a look at my recently finished website and have a word or two in the Café Terrace: www.peterwilster.com

Thank you.

Peter Wilstermann

Gorgeous art. I'd be interested to know how you did them? What apps, and what was the workflow?

Good luck!! Keep us updated!

Those pics look awesome and I like the concept you have going. When do you think it will be completed?

Hi and thanks for your comments. I am using basically Macromedia Flash for drawing and animating and After Effects for compositing and final rendering.

The completion time isn't determined yet as I'm in the middle of my pre-production. But hopefully, if I maintain this pace, in about 16 months I'd be able to enter post-production (there are about 100 animated scenes). And yes, I'm animating the whole thing (I really hope so!)

I'm very fond of animation as a medium but I'm frankly tired of cartooned animation just for kids or family. I crave for more mature animation and current anime isn't satisfactory for me. I'd like to see more proposals, more bold studios taking the risk. So in the meantime, I'm trying out my own effort. Thanks to a team of great musicians and my spare time, I'll bring out an animated piece for mature sensibilities, not stuff for kiddos. Just a piece of thought-provoking drama. Animated.

Hope to touch a sensible fiber somewhere.

If you don't already know about the flash virtual camera, it operates superbly. I'd suggest giving the site a good look through. It's nice to see an animation fan taking it a step further than newgrounds It looks cool, I hope to see some real animation in it though, I've known guys who do nothing but tween pretty drawings from left to right and call it "animation." Ha, poseurs .

Wow, it took a long time for the reply window to finally open. I tried to take a look at the virtual camera but it appears to be taken out of its website.
While my animation is made in flash, it won't look like the classic web flash animations you can see everywhere. My intention is to give it a 2-D cel treatment, drawing frame-by-frame and not using those tweeners that make flash animation so particular.
You can download some shortcuts at my website forum (go to Cafe Terrace)
