Hi...I think I'm gonna clock out of the site for a week or so to get my new script done. It's just a 15 pager, but I hope to make it my next narrative for the site, maybe. I'm really excited about the story too. It's a very personal and important story to tell to the mass public. I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to make it though. I need to start working full time here soon, to help pay for school next year. Also, I have a hard time finding actors around here and also people like an extra camera man and a producer to help secure things like shooting locations, not to mention help for the lights. So actually, I'm bummed, because I might not be able to produce it into a short. This would be my student "best" too, I'm sure of it. My biggest problem is having to do it all on my own I guess. So any words of encouragement? Looking for some...let me know, thanks.
Besides filming, the only other thing I ever did good was filming.

All the best MIND. My words of encouragement, just do it. If you get stumped on something move past it, or take a break. Dont let it overwhelm you. You are doing the right thing though. A famous play write, when asked what his secret was, replied, "Every morning I get up, and sit down at my typewritter, and start typing. I do this from 8:00am, to 5:00pm 5 days a week." 50 hours a week, this guy types, whethere he has a story, or not. Thats the secret to his success. He just does it. Best of luck, and let us know how it works out. R. Michael
Try to take us (the viewer) to the next level. What I mean is, try to show these characters with some of their layers stripped away. What's underneath it all? Maybe watch a film with characters like the ones you are writing just before you start to write so you have a clear vision about the depth of character. "Treats", everyone likes treats... the unexpected moments that add much depth. The seemingly odd things that characters do (but yet are so normal), and somehow it all ties together...
I don't know what it's about so that's about the best I can do....
"Don't hold back" is my best advice!

My advice would be to plan everything out. Break each element down and treat it as a separate issue then look at different ways to make everything work together... You have made some great films in the past so I know you have some sort of formula. Keep with what works best but always be organized! Also stay around positive people and be positive yourself.. sounds corny I know but it works on so many different levels.
Good luck, looking forward to the latest release!
If you don't look I'll force you to _=_

Listen to music. Put it on right before you go to sleep. I once put on some scary music, and as I laid there, thinking about stuff, trying to go to sleep, this awesome horror scene popped into my head. I do my best thinking at night, I dunno about you. But take whatever you are interested in a lot, and hang around it. It can be a major part of your movies.
For me, the best ideas are pretty much random. If I think a long time, I can produce some good stories, but I like spontaneous bursts of thought better. I hope you do well on this!
PS: I'm not going to be here until Easter night, so farewell for now. I'm going to Jacksonville, Florida with my friend. Maybe I'll see Tizzy and all his pimpy little friends! Later!

I have "Pimpy little" friends?? .... where are all the Biatches? LOL The wierd thing about Florida, is how long it is. It takes about 8 hours just to drive out of the state from where I live. Thast makes Jacksonville almost 8 hours away. Maybe another time though. I was actually born in Richmond, VA and I still haev family in that area. You just never know when i might be there. If so, ill let ya know. Enjoy your trip. R. M.
Pgpyro, Tizzy, Jay and Irony...thanks for your advice, it really helped! You're all right, I should not hold back and Irony that is soooo soo soo soo true about the "positive people" thing. I'll try my best to find people of that nature.
I just found out that I can find REAL actors that will work for free! I guess there is a local web page that is stuffed full of eager actors and actresses...my friend put up a calling sheet on the web page and had 30 head shots in his e-mail inbox the next day.
SO YES! This project is on! I have ACTS ONE and TWO written already, and yes JAY I think this time around I show layers of all of my characters...that was some great advice. I'm excited because so far I've done this with my main character only having 3 to 4 lines for the whole 15 pages...all body, facial and physical actions to define him.
I hope I don't curse myself here but...not if, but when I finish this short, you're all going to witness a new side of my abilities in creating art. Its been hidden and starving to get out, but the grounds of this film are perfect for me to finally "really" show everyone what I can do with a notebook, a pen, and a camera. Thanks guys...talk to you soon!
