Well...the film needs to relate in some way to the theme. That's part of the contest.

Well, if Cash isnt an option perhaps a Company would be willing to sponsor the contest? Maybe like a Discount & Gift Certificate.

As for the Price of Contest + Entry, $20.00 would be a good total for everything involved.

Gah-dangit! This is supposed to be an informal contest! It's supposed to be us members having fun! Not some corporate sponsored money hungry thing, it's about respect, and if the few hours I just spent playing GTA: San Andreas as tought me anything, it's that respect is all that matters.

That is true, well the winner could always perhaps get something useful like a free submission to SF?

Why spend cash to enter a contest when you have no chance to win the cash back? /shrug

Andrew, are you saying your film is that bad? That you don't have even a CHANCE of winning?!?

Ok people, what would be a reasonable cost to enter? Besides obviously the normal hosting fee.

I'd love to be able to get some sort of prizes together - and that necessitates some sort of extra fee.

Andrew man! I'm sorry to hear that!

I suppose we could have it be optional to pay the extra for the cash pool, seeing as a lot of people don't want to. And if you don't pay the extra and you win, the prize goes to the next best film, and so on. How would that be?

I was just messing around, but I doubt people are going to pay to enter a contest.

Well, how about this.

To enter the contest it will be $20.

All submitters would get:

1. Studentfilms.com T-shirt
2. DVD of all of the final films for the contest when it is released.

Winner would get:

1. Cash prize to be determined, perhaps $100 or $200.
2. A certificate to be proudly displayed. Smile
3. Kyle Johnson at their side all the time for a week to come up with witty responses for everything.

i thought titanium's idea was lame, where some people submit prize money but some don't. no offence to him.

i have no problem with entry fee/whatever of $20, thats pretty cheap expecially if there's a chance to win more money and u get a shirt and dvd. so 20 is more than fair, and its extremely cheap.

Anyone can make twenty dollars. Get off your ass and mow a lawn or slob a knob. Smile

$20 for all that is great!!

I agree, my solution is lame... but if its required it at least doesn't take the fun out of it for those who do want to pay.
