I don't set out to make "art" I just try to make something with a beginning, middle, end, and some characters...the art seems to come during the process.

The money seems a little high to me (i know if i dont want to pay dont enter). But when it was orignally concieved it was more for "the fun of it" than to create a legitimate contest with a grand prize winner and an all expenses paid vacation to Los Angeles. I'd probobly be more willing to fork over like 10-15. But thats jsut me and i'm a cheap bastard.

Well it's party a normal festival entry fee...but mainly it is to help pay for the minor changes that I'll need to make to the site to include a festival section.
The web isn't free unfortunatley.
I'm still working on the details. I'm giving until the end of the week until I hear from one of the sponsors that I contacted, and if I don't hear anything by then...we'll start anyway.
How about the "student filmmaker film festival prize donation fee" instead of cash pool?
I don't expect the money to be raised to be that much...perhaps 200 or less if 20 people submit a film. But that would be a nice amount of money for someone to win to help finance their next project!
I'm also thinking of making a film for the fun of it. It wouldn't be part of the competition obviously, but I haven't made a film in forever.
No thanks, I'll pass. Anyway, I plan on submitting a film to this little contest. Jsut a quick question: Exactly how concentrated does the film have to be on the road? Would the judges downgrade the film if it weren't focused enough on this road?
