does any one any good Panasonic or Canon cameras out there? dosent have to be somehting proffesional just decent that is able to hook up to my computer. I would Gladly appreciate it if anyone would reply. Thanks!

I have always had good experience with the Panasonic PVGS-## brand. Really cheap, but decent outdoors quality.

Canon ZR series is also very good for the price, as well as the Canon Elura series

The Canon ZR800 is a wonderful little camera. Picture quality is extremely good (it's best in bright light; there is some noise in low light), it has a decent set of manual controls, a 35X zoom, and something no other camera in it's price range (I got mine for $199 at newegg.com) has: a microphone jack. It uploads to the PC with firewire (though, since it uses MiniDV, all uploads are in real time). It's not a professional camera, but it's perfect for practicing and making short films (you could probably make a very nice looking documentary with it, too).

I run a Sony Handycam DCR-HC32 and other than it making quite a bit of noise in fair lighting it works great and has great color.

I always use lights when running this camera to get rid of the noise but theres no need for them outside on a sunny day. You may need them if its cloudy though.

If you wanted to go cheap (but still pretty beautiful) you could get a HV20 or HV30. I got my HV20 for $850 and that was a while ago, and now that the HV30 has come out you could probably pick one up for a decent deal. I forget the differences between the two, but they're pretty minute. I think the HV30 might have a higher res screen, which I'm pretty sure is about the only improvement.
