Hi, I've used the DVX100 quite extensively but will be soon shooting a one-day gig with the Sony Z1U, and was wondering if there's anything I should know going from a Standard-Def DV camera to an HDV one. Any light you can shed would be appreciated. Thanks-

Use slow, deliberate camera movements. HDV compression is especially vulnerable to movement artifacts. Use lots of light, then darken in post. Everything you do in post will take longer than when you had SD. Make sure you have an editing computer capable of handling multiple HDV streams, use a solution like Cineform. Shoot 50i on the Z1, then deinterlace to 25p, then slow 4% to 24p (if 24p is what you desire).
