I recently had an idea and wanted to just get some feedback...
What do you think about a site that is sort of like Apple's iTunes but only for indie movies, TV shows, shorts, etc. You pay whatever amount, and then if you want, it is automatically downloaded to your iTunes library, if possible. Or it will just create a folder somewhere and you add it to iTunes yourself.
Right now we are in the brainstorming phase. Constructive criticism is welcome along with ideas you like or want to see. Thanks.
I think that it could possibly work if it was free. I seriously think that the entertainment business is going to be going more towards free media pretty soon. You can already watch pretty much any current tv show on their channel's websites, and you have sites like Hulu where you can watch tons of tv shows, from different broadcasters, and movies (they have actually good movies too). It's only a matter of time before this becomes more and more prevalent too. I really don't think people like paying for stuff that they're watching online, and I don't blame them really.
On top of that the quality of most internet indie movies is rather low, so you'd have to get quality programming.
Even if you can pay the creators while not charging the viewer your idea is the same as all the others, and some how I bet your not talking about paying the creators are you.
