1) I've always considered new zealand a beautiful place where i have always wanted to film. The Lord of the Rings just proved to me why. 2) Like the australian industry, i find the new zealand industry to be reliant on offshore products, producing very little of its own high quality products, maybe this is to do with the population size, or just the general attitudes of local audiences. 3) I would definitely consider filming in new zealand, good crews, great locations, if i had the money, and a script that suited, why not? Not sure if your assesment has been done already or not, but anyway - I knew basically nothing about the NZ Film Industry, and didn't really even know we had one before LOTR, however after the first LOTR's movie I got hooked on making films etc... and ever since then I have been making them. And I've of course shot short films here because I live here, and I don't have big budgets - and even if I did, I think our country has some awesome scenery that looks great on screen.
