The US copyright law says that ANYTHING you create is copyrighted from the moment you make it. You are legally entitled to put a copyright notice to such effect on everything you do. Something like © John Smith 2005 will do. To get it registered (which helps you protect your copyright in the event of infringement you need to do more, but I've never done that.
