Does anyone know of any good free tutorials for 3Ds Max? Preferabley simpler ones. I've searched around for some, but all I've really found are intermediate to hard ones (things such as cars and people). I was just wondering if anyone had some in their favorites maybe, or just a site they go to often. Thanks.

you can check the tutorials on 3dTOTAL.com , they have a section for 3ds max. They also have a pretty helpful forum where you could ask n00b questions if you had them. If you have access to Maya or zbrush Digital Tutors has a ton of video tutorials

Awesome thanks. I'll check out those other two after my trial runs out. I'm trying to learn Cgi, so that I will be more qualified for a job that might not really be there. It's at a local productionhouse, and they do quite a few sci-fi movies and need Cgi. For the movie they're working on right now they only have two people working on it. So I'm kinda hoping that if I learn this stuff I might be able to get a job helping him. That might a be a bit hopefull but oh well.

Good luck learning. Even if you don't get a job with the local company, there are still a lot of jobs out there for people who can use 3d programs (movies, commercials, independent films, videogames...). IF your trial runs out on 3dS or you get tired of using it, Wings3d is a free program that allows you to model and apply basic textures and such, nice litle prog.

Does anyone know how to export a picture of your model from 3ds max? Also is there any free rotate of the view when constructing the model? Cause I was stuck in top, right/left, front, and then a perspective of one of those. But the perspective just gives a bit more depth. Is there at least an isometric view? The program I use at school Inventor (it's an enginnering program) for modeling has the free rotating view and also isometric, and it's really nice and you can see everything. So far I haven't found that in 3ds max, but i'm most likey (or hopefully) just missing it. Thanks.
