Why make them, you can go online or to like Walmart or sporting good stores like that, and buy airsoft guns. most pistols go for about $25,00, depends on what gun it is. www.college-films.com has a "how to" make an AK-47. Depends on how real u want it and how much you are willing to spend. Online I have found blank firing guns, but they go for several hundred dollars.

****Dont use after effects*** if you've never done it before, also: dont use "premade" muzzle flashes because they will never be the right size or the right angle. What I also do, because I have limited experience, is export the single frames from Final Cut Pro and then take them into Photoshop. Then I just draw a little yellow dot where the flash should be...then I take out my smudge tool and smear the flash until it looks real, so then it becomes transparent in some part, as it adds to the realism.

Not that this is relevant, but I went to a presentation given by the VFX guys that did matrix and they said in the matrix, they rendered out all their muzzle flashes in 3d. What a f'n waist of time!

try a google search, dude. There's a bunch of tutorials out there.
