I am using super 8. It is very important to me to have some underwater shots. I have heard tell of some sort of waterproof box...I guess anyone with experience shooting underwater should post.

Underwater housings are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Absolutely ridiculous. A good quality one for a consumer camcorder will cost you no less than $3000. There are cheaper ones out there, but those are ultimate low-end and it would be foolish to trust such a budget piece of equipment with your camera. Underwater housings will destroy your camera if they're not well-made, so you need to buy a really good one or none at all.

Maybe you can find a good one used somewhere, but it will be hard. I wish you the very best of luck.

We have an underwater shot in our last shot. We used a fish tank.

i've never tried this but if you have like a large fish tank, you can lower it down(so that the edges are just above the water) then you put the camera in and start filming. Also you could find a way to seal off the top of the fish tank(it'd have to be removeable) find a way to keep the camera stable. you would also want to weight it down so it doesn't float. then you can operate the camera by remote control. of course then you'd probably need scuba equipment. hope all this helped.

I don't set out to make "art" I just try to make something with a beginning, middle, end, and some characters...the art seems to come during the process.
