Portalcast: Entertainment Revolution Launched in the O.C.
Newport Beach, Calif., March 1, 2006 – Trend-setting Orange County, California, serves as home ground for what could become the latest craze in entertainment. This is where Portalcast Entertainment will introduce its innovative entertainment network of mini-cinema kiosks designed to entertain fans with compelling short-subject motion pictures. Instead of spending a lot of time and money to view feature-length films, audiences can now watch mini-movies for a mini-fee—while waiting for a table at a favorite restaurant.
“These mini-cinemas will give new meaning to dinner and a movie,” said Sara Cole, head of Motion Picture Acquisitions and Promotions. “Wait times will pass faster, making the entire experience of eating out or shopping more enjoyable.”
Portalcast plans to release its first round of short films this month in local Orange County restaurants, shopping and service centers. The ATM-like kiosks will feature films less than ten minutes long, allowing viewers to watch a film or two while waiting in line, which should enhance their dining and shopping experiences.
