hey guys im using Adobe Premiere Pro but this can really be applied to any editing software. I'm using a Panasonic DV1000 tapedeck and for some reason i'm playing back on my PC in slow motion (audio is running at about id say 50...60 percent speed as is the video). Whenever I try and capture I get a message saying it's lost connection. This might mean I need to buy a new firewire but I'm not sure. Any suggestions? I tried using my camera as a tape deck too and had teh same problem. Thanks guys.

What kind of computer are you using? What kind of firewire card do you have? What OS are you running? What kidn of camera did you try to use as the tape deck.

The easist things to do are

Go to your device manager and remove the fire wire card, restart, and let windows re-detect it and reinstall it. That may help If not

Go to the manufactueres website and see if they have a firmware update.

See if Adobe has any info on your firewire card.
