Just wondering... I know I've thought about it before... I mean, seems pretty simple... and such. And fun too shoot (shoot! lol)!

For my movie "<_<exageration>_>", I did film a semi nude scene, in which the female was toppless upon a guy (not n3kkid). She never had any exposed privates, but... had she been more willing!!!

Remember, drunk... plus entusiasm = aDemu!!

If my main-stream directing career never takes off (god-forbid!) I would definitely make pornos. Some people might think I would be lowering myself, but i would consider it another form of expression, a different kind of "art." Plus, there's a sh*t load of money in the porn business (something like $6 billion!). So if you worked for a big company like Vivid Entertainment, you could make alot of money.

nice topic.

It sounds very tempting, but i'm not sure if I could ever do it. Truthfully, I can't really see myself anywhere but the film industry (excluding porn), and I can't help but say that I won't eventually find a decent job in the field, even if its not directing. Therefore I would have to lean towards 'no'. The only exception I would make is if I needed money desperately. In that case, I would really have no choice.

I have to be honest - I don't have a huge amount of respect for people in the porn business. In fact, I have very little. So I would have to respond with a resounding no.

Okay... now that I'm sober, it would be better for me to respond to my own topic....

...Like I said last night, I would film pron, but would I be proud of it? Probably not. But what I could achieve with this, is a lot of money, like jdunn555 said!
I could get all the equipment I needed, and a couple G5's ta' boot including some 23 inch monitors and render tv's (I mean tv's to see your final project on)... Set up a real business, hopefully, in some sort of "multiplex" arena. Renovate that place to suit my needs. Get a better heating solution for it, too... and any time I run low on money during production, create a pr0n flick.

I mean, it is a grotesque industry... but, I feel there is also an outcry for quality Canadian pr0n, eh?
It's just a potential cash cow. A way to pay off student loads, and maybe buy your fiance's wedding ring (not that I have a fiance... but... I'm hopeful).

I have wanted to make porn, but not like most people think of it. I want to go back to the style of the 70s, where there was a story and the women had class. When it was shot on film and there was a budget and a script.
Porn today is boring. That is why it keeps getting more perverse. I want a movie I can sit down and watch the whole way through with a girlfriend. Somthing with romance before the money shot.
Back in the day, alot of porno could have all the sex scenes cut out and it would still be a decent movie. That is what I want to make; not how many penises can a girl take.

I have always aspired to make the first X rated film with no nudity. Just think about it... Big Grin

Team America was almost rated NC17, and technically there's no nudity in that.

Why is everyone making a big fuss about filming Pron? Pron's not even a word. Wink

And to answer the question, no - I want a job that I can "write home about".

When I am hanging out in Yahoo games, I often ask the question "ANy filmmakers here?", and I almost always get back "Does Porn count?" I find it hilarious.

Ademu, you and I have a very scarily similiar view of how the future should be. You should come to Dallas, home of like the second or third largest pr0n industry, even though I've somehow managed not to find any of it. Also though, there are plenty of movie theaters around here going out of business making way for new stadium theaters, so there a lot of old multiplexi(yeah, that's the plural) just waiting to be turned into badass production companies/studios.

the porn industry is much larger than hollywood, topping off at around 10 billion dollars per year.

not that i would know or anything.

would i do it? ehh...i think i'd have to be desperate. boogie nights is a good movie though.

i totally understand Movieman21's post....endless people at high school always thought it was funny to:

A) suggest i make a porn
B) ask me if i've made any porn

then they'd laugh and go play football and do push-ups.

When we have to do those stupid introductions at the beginning of the school year I always have to tag on: "NOT PORN!"
I remember my first day of high School, First class I got up and said "I am a filmmaker . . ." I paused as the class began to snicker. Luckily the teacher broke in at the right moment and said "What genre do you make?"
That was a life saver.

So would I ever shoot porn: Not even if someone held a gun to my head.

kind of on the same subject ...
did anyone see that five or six part HBO documentary series about the porn industry? It was very exploitative, but still informative and interesting.

One of the issues it brought up is whether porn has recently gone mainstream. The doc obviously had thought it had. What are other peoples thoughts on whether porn has become much more mainstream recently?
